🎶 A Summer Evening at The Dunham Barn 🎶
We’re very excited to announce that on Saturday 8th August, we’ll be hosting our Summer Sounds & Small Plates evening.
As the sun begins to set, enjoy a relaxed evening of delicious food, good company and live music from the wonderfully talented Mere Morsels – a chilled jazz guitar duo known for their beautiful instrumental arrangements and laid-back summer vibes.

🌾 From Field to Loaf – Right Here in Dunham 🌾
One of the things we’re most proud of at The Dunham Barn is supporting local producers and knowing exactly where our food comes from.
Just a couple of minutes down the road from the barn…..Karen and James Bushell, and the amazing @lovinglyartisan have joined forces to sow a crop of Nelson grain that will eventually be turned into flour and baked into the beautiful artisan bread we serve here.
How amazing is that? I am soooooooo excited!!!!!😜
From a field in Dunham Massey to your breakfast, sandwich or soup lunch, it doesn’t get much more local than that.
In a world where food can travel thousands of miles before reaching our plates, projects like this remind us why supporting local farmers, growers and producers is so important.
A huge thank you to Karen and James for being part of such a fantastic project and helping keep food miles low while celebrating the very best of our local countryside.
So very soon while you’re enjoying a slice of our artisan bread, just remember – it may well have started life in a field only a stone’s throw from the Barn. 🌾🍞❤️

🌼 Five Years in the Making… 🌼
What you see here isn’t a perfectly manicured lawn or a commercially managed field.
This meadow has been allowed to grow naturally and develop over the last five years, creating a rich habitat for wildlife right here at The Barn.
Working alongside the National Trust and with guidance from the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, we’ve taken a slower approach — allowing native grasses and wildflowers to establish, seed and thrive in their own time.
The result?
🐝 Food sources for bees, butterflies and pollinators
🐦 Shelter and nesting opportunities for birds
🦔 Habitat corridors for hedgehogs and small mammals
🌱 Increased biodiversity and healthier soil
🌼 A constantly changing display of wildflowers throughout the seasons
It may look a little untidy to some, but nature rarely grows in straight lines.
Every buttercup, clover flower, seed head and tall grass has a purpose, helping create a thriving ecosystem that supports local wildlife and brings a little more nature back into our corner of Dunham.
Next time you visit, take a moment to slow down, listen to the birds, watch the insects at work and enjoy the view. Sometimes the most beautiful things happen when we simply let nature do what it does best.
