We offer a range of delectable afternoon teas to celebrate special occasions (or just because!), a regular Fish Friday and a whole array of activities including Wicker Weaving Classes and Forage Box Events plus many seasonal events! Please note, due to limited capacity these all do require pre-booking.
We love dogs...
Especially the well behaved ones … and offer water bowls, free treats, and a specialised dog menu! It’s the perfect place for you and your furry best friend to relax and enjoy high quality food and drinks after a long, bracing walk together around the beautiful Cheshire countryside

A little honest update from us at The Dunham Barn ☕️🌿
We know queues can sometimes build up here when we’re busy — especially on sunny days, weekends and lunchtime rushes.
Trust us, we know it can be frustrating waiting for food or another coffee when all you want to do is relax and enjoy the countryside.
That’s why we’re trialling a more relaxed table service system for extra drinks and bits during busy periods.
If you’d like another tea, coffee or cold drink, there’s no need to queue again — just ask a member of the team and we’ll do our best to help.
We also wanted to be honest about something…
Sometimes people comment on us only having one person serving out front, but the reality for independent businesses right now is incredibly tough.
Because we can never predict how busy the day will be, we simply can’t always afford to have multiple staff standing behind the till during quieter periods — especially with the huge rise in wages, utilities, ingredients and general running costs.
When we know we’re going to be extremely busy 🌞🌞we do bring in extra staff and have two people on the counter where possible.
But fresh food, barista coffee and homemade specials can still only move as fast as the kitchen and coffee machine allow ☕️
Please know the team are always working as hard as they can, and kindness and patience genuinely mean the world to us
Every extra coffee ordered, every slice of cake, every sandwich or lunch chosen here truly makes a difference to helping small independent places like ours survive and continue growing. Your support matters now more than ever 🤍
To help ease queues further, we’ll also be opening the outdoor hut this weekend while the 🌞 is out serving drinks, snacks, cakes and butties for those wanting something quick and easy.

This is gorgeous Ted, who apparently refuses to do his walk around Dunham Massey until he’s stopped at The Barn for his doggy sausage first 😂🌭
His owners say he drags them here and today he sat so patiently waiting for his favourite treat.
And yesterday ….we had a beautiful Scottish deer-hound come to visit (who was actually from Yorkshire!)
One thing we absolutely love about The Dunham Barn is seeing all your four-legged friends making themselves at home.
Dogs are always welcome inside and outside, with plenty of water bowls, fuss and usually a sausage or two waiting for them 🐶

A beautiful afternoon celebrating one of our lovely customers turning 40 🥂✨
The brief was relaxed, informal rustic garden vibes… and it turned out just perfectly. 💚💚
Green foliage, afternoon tea buffet tables, bubbles on arrival and the most glamorous guests all dressed for the occasion 💃💃whilst still keeping that warm, laid-back atmosphere we all love so much at The Barn 🌿
Guests dropped in throughout the afternoon for a glass of Prosecco, a few nibbles and a catch up, whilst the children made full use of the outdoor space running around and playing football on the grounds.
Just easy conversation, laughter and a really lovely atmosphere from start to finish.
And we have to mention THAT cake… a stunning 40-inch celebration cake which tasted every bit as amazing as it looked 🎂 (and very kindly, we all got to try a slice afterwards!)
Thank you for choosing to celebrate such a special occasion with us. We absolutely loved hosting it 🤍

There’s something really special about village traditions like this 💚
Today we had the pleasure of once again hosting the start of the Dunham Massey May Day Rose Queen procession here at The Barn — a tradition that has brought the village together for generations.
From vintage tractors and classic vehicles, to marching bands, dancing groups, families, neighbours and familiar faces, it truly is one of those days that reminds you what community is all about.
A huge thank you to everyone who gathered with us this morning before the procession made its way down to the Village Hall for an afternoon of fêtes, games, music, food and fun.
We absolutely love being a small part of keeping traditions like this alive.
Seeing all ages come together, celebrating village life in the sunshine (with a little dramatic Cheshire sky thrown in 🌦️), is what makes #DunhamMassey so special.

There’s just something special about a proper cup of tea made in a teapot ☕️
At The Dunham Barn we serve organic loose leaf tea the traditional way — brewed properly, poured properly, and made to be enjoyed slowly.
My husband’s parents always and still@do drink. “real tea” in a pot, so it only feels right that we still do things that way today.
No rushing, no shortcuts… just a comforting pot of tea and a moment to sit back and enjoy it.
It’s amazing how many of our customers say the same thing…
